Days 1 and 2

Well we are in Pensacola, Florida and are completely exhausted. Nothing of any real significance (and by this I mean nothing that is especially funny) has happened, but we've had a good time and the trip has been incident free. Yesterday we left Spartanburg at around 11:15 and drove to Atlanta. We ate at the Varsity downtown. It was neat to go to a local landmark and smell a lot of local body odor. The food was below average and then we headed on our way down to Auburn, Alabama. We walked around Auburn University for a bit and saw those oak trees that an Alabama fan poisoned. We ate at a restaurant called Moe's Original Bar B Que. They serve excellent po-boys and we were excited to learn that there is a Moe's in Asheville. We camped at a little state park about 15 minutes away and were really glad that we brought along a fan. Got up this morning, cooked breakfast and packed up and were back on the road within 2 hours. We then drove 4 hours down to Pensacola where we ate at Fisherman's Corner. I got some blackened grouper and Hannah had an excelled crab cake B.L.T. Because it's the weekend before the 4th and we're at the beach, there weren't any campgrounds that had any vacancies. This has proved to be a real blessing because when we got back to our cheapo hotel at 9:30 tonight, it was still 91 degrees outside. We went to Fort Pickens state park today. It's a beautiful place that is on an island off the coast. The water was perfect and the sand looked like it had been bleached. Tonight we tried to go to two different restaurants that we've heard of, but failed at both because one was closed and the other had an hour wait and it was already 8:15. Sorry there's not more interesting adventures to mention, but I suppose that's for the best. We'll get up bright and early tomorrow to head for New Orleans.
